Right wing Advocates of Gun Violence

The NRA Convention this year was one long celebration encouraging gun violence and right-wing extremism.  It was attended by mostly old white flabby crabby men.

One of the companies that is part of this culture of hate and politics, that exploits it for profit, is Zombie Industries.  Zombie Industries makes targets for shooting that bleed.  They make their targets both recognizable figures, like President Obama, like Rev. Al Sharpton, which argues they are promoting racist politics not just race-neutral right wing politics.

Identifying someone as a 'zombie' is the new dog whistle / code for dehumanizing someone who is a partisan opponent, while marking them as an enemy.  It is a mechanism for channeling hate and violent impulses.

They also market other generic figures that bleed, like 'ex-wife or girlfriend', for those big fans of domestic violence and misogyny, and 'gun control lobbyist'.

One of the 'girl friend' zombies, and another black female/girlfriend zombie:

The gun control zombie has been marketed in a particularly ugly way, imposing the image of the 'gun control lobbist' over a photo of Colin Goddard, one of the victims of the Virginia Tech mass shootings; he was shot four times, and still carries three of those bullets in his shoulder and hip.  Part of the ad appears below; Colin appears, second person to the viewer's left of the 'zombie' target.  This photo will help you recognize him, in the ad.:

Colin has requested that the company take his image out of their advertizing.

Members of congress have requested the company stop selling the image labeled gun control lobbyist.

Instead of being embarrassed, the company appears to LIKE the negative attention.

I would like to encourage all of our readers to sign the petition requesting Amazon.com stop selling these products, as offensive, and a kind of hate speech.

Follow this link to the petition.
Zombie Industries is a company that makes gun range targets that bleed. Amazon.com sells them.

The bleeding targets, have had likenesses of President Obama, a "bleeding ex-girlfriend," and most recently, a bleeding "gun control lobbyist" marketed with a picture of a victim of the Virginia Tech shooting massacre.
It's wrong. Tell Amazon to stop.
There is not much reasonable expectation of decency from the company that makes and sells these; we can hope for better, try for better, from Amazon.com.
